Attempt Break and Enter
At 4:45 pm on Saturday afternoon, the resident of a home in the 500 block of 3rd St reported a woman was trying to kick in his door and windows. Officers located the woman at the residence with an axe she had used to damage the door.
She was arrested and was in possession of a set of brass knuckles and a small amount of methamphetamine.
The accused, a 40-year-old Brandon resident, will appear in court on Sunday morning on charges of Attempted Break and Enter, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Assault
A 34-year-old Brandon man was arrested for assault on Saturday. Officers attended a residence in the 300 block of 9th St to check on the welfare of two children after the father reported a party was in progress at the residence. When officers arrived, the children’s mother reported she was assaulted by her current boyfriend. The suspect had left but was located nearby and arrested. He will appear in court on Dec 29th.
Impaired Driving
At 7:22 pm on Saturday, officers responded to a three-vehicle collision in the 800 block of 18th St North. One of the drivers showed signs of impairment by alcohol and was arrested. Breath tests resulted in readings over 3 times the legal limit. The driver, a 38-year-old woman from Birtle, was lodged until sober and will appear in court later in November.
At 10:47 pm on Saturday night, a traffic stop in the 600 block of 11th St resulted in the arrest of the driver for impaired driving. The driver, a 26-year-old Brandon resident, provided breath samples over the legal limit and was released to appear in court later this month.
Other Arrests
Five people were arrested on arrest warrants.
One person was lodged for Breach of Peace.
