Westman and Area Traditional Christmas Dinner Attendance Strong Despite Stormy Weather

Santa gives all the volunteers a thumbs-up approval for a job well done!

2022 Westman and Area Traditional Christmas Dinner Declared a Success!!

After not having a live version of the dinner for the past two years due to COVID regulations, the need for a change of venue was deemed necessary. Fortunately, the Keystone Centre opened its doors once again to be the host venue for the event. Committee chair Gladden Smith said, "From the moment we had an agreement with the Keystone Centre, we all had a sense of coming back home." The volunteer numbers were strong during the preparation stages and right through the day of the dinner.

The snowy weather and poor road conditions may have made for smaller crowds but the 38th Annual Westman and Area Traditional Christmas Dinner is now in the books. Nearly 3000 meals were served despite the 5+ cm of snowfall on Sunday. In total, 1600 meals were delivered and 1200 meals were served in the MNP dining hall at the Keystone Centre.

WATCD Committee Chair Gladden Smith was very pleased with how the day went and was very thankful for the volunteers who made it happen, "We can’t say enough about the volunteers, sponsors, Brandon Transit, and Keystone Centre staff. they all helped make the day another success even with the amount of snow that came down throughout the day," Smith said.

The Entertainment stage was provided by the Keystone Centre while the sound system, lighting and video backdrop were provided by Howling The Night Away Productions. All of the entertainers volunteered their time to help entertain the guests who enjoyed their meal in the dining hall.
