Manitoba's fixed-term election will take place on October 3, 2023, and recently retired police chief Wayne Balcaen is ready to take a run at the Brandon West seat as he represents the PC Party.

Balcaen recently visited the WCG Studios to discuss his platform with "Your Town Today" Host Frank McGwire. Among the many subjects their discussion touched upon, crime control, health care, industry, and tourism were at the forefront.

Considering politics as a natural transition from the police force, Balcaen made it abundantly clear that he's looking forward to working with the City of Brandon and Municipalities in the Westman area with an "open door policy."

Among the highlights of his platform, Balcaen expressed an interest in bringing new industry to the area, "I would love to see more industry come here to create higher paying jobs and more family settlement to the area."
