UPDATE: 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15
Several sources are reporting multiple air ambulance helicopters have been deployed to the junction of Highway 5 and The Trans Canada Highway where a traffic accident occurred earlier today. Sources say there are now 15 fatalities following the horrific crash.
A statement from RCMP reads, "RCMP units from across western Manitoba are on scene to assist along with other first responders," adding, its Major Crimes Services is now investigating the crash.

There are various witness reports of a semi colliding with a handi-van.
RCMP and Emergency Crews have closed down a portion of the Trans Canada until further notice.
The westbound side of the Transcanada remains open.
