Suspect Captured Carrying Weapons He Attempted To Use on Police


Possession of Weapon Dangerous/Resist Arrest/Warrant 

On the morning of June 6th, 2022 police responded to the 100 block of Lorne Avenue after receiving a complaint of 3 suspicious males attempting to pick a lock to a shed.  Upon police arrival one of the males was noted to have a large knife hanging in a sheath from his neck. 

Police advised the male of his arrest, followed by the subject fleeing on foot.  Police pursued the male for two blocks, whereby he was taken to the ground and a struggle ensued.  During the encounter with police, the subject attempted to access a second knife which was on his person. 

A check of police records further showed the male to have a warrant for his arrest.  The 27-year-old male has been held in custody to appear in court on June 7th, 2022 for the charges of Possession of a Weapon Dangerous, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Resist Arrest, CDSA Possession and Failing to Attend Court.
