Sioux Valley Man Charged with Armed Robbery

Armed Robbery

On Friday morning, officers were called to a residence in the 300 block of 2nd Street for a disturbance.  A 34-year-old male from Sioux Valley was there and the resident was concerned for his safety. Further investigation revealed the same 34-year-old male had been at this residence on Thursday night.  At that time the suspect pulled a knife on the tenant and demanded money. The suspect then left after getting a small quantity of cash. The male was arrested for armed robbery, without further confrontation. He was transported to the Brandon Police Service where he will be held until court later today.

 

Arrest Warrant Executed  

At approx. 12:20 PM Friday a 56-year-old Brandon female attended the Brandon Police Service to turn herself in.  She was aware that a warrant had been issued for her arrest or the charge of failing to attend for photographs and fingerprints.  She was arrested and the warrant was executed.  After the ident work (photos and prints) was obtained she was released with a court date of December 5.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 2 PM Friday an officer observed a male known to him in the area of the Corral Centre.  The officer was aware the 28-year-old Brandon male was the subject of an arrest warrant.  The male was wanted for charges of resisting arrest, causing a disturbance and failing to attend court.  The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and taken to BPS for photos and fingerprinting.  He was then released with a court date of December 5.

Arrest Warrant Executed

At approx. 9:50 PM Friday, officers were called to a business in the 1200 block of 18th St.  Upon arrival they spoke with a 35-year-old male who was found to be the subject of a warrant for failing to attend court.  The male was arrested and will be held for court later today.

Arrest Warrant Executed  

At approx. 11:10 PM Friday, officers located a 27-year-old male with a cut to his arm, in the 300 block of 10th Street.  The male refused to provide any information regarding the injury to his arm.  Further checks revealed he was wanted for breach of a conditional sentence order. He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and then taken to the Brandon Regional Health Centre for medical treatment.  Once he was cleared medically he was transported to BPS where he will appear in court later today.   

Fail to comply with a Release Order

At approx. 2:55 am today, police conducted a traffic stop in the 3500 block of Victoria Ave.  Members had observed a 29-year-old Brandon female, who is known to them, get into the vehicle just a few blocks earlier.  The officer was aware that the female was currently bound by a daily curfew.  The female was arrested from the vehicle for failing to comply with her release order and will be held for court later today.

Other Arrests:

  • A 40-year-old male was arrested in the 400 block of 13th St under the Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. The male was highly intoxicated and was yelling and screaming in front of one of the houses. He will be held until sober and released without charge.
