UPDATE:

Paving of Brandon Avenue between 18th and 26th streets is scheduled for Monday, August 21, 2023 weather permitting. Access will remain limited until after the new asphalt is applied.

As of today (Wednesday, August 16, 2023) Zenith Paving Ltd has begun milling the existing asphalt off of Brandon Avenue from 18th Street to 26th Street. Access from side streets is currently prohibited until further notice.

Once milling is complete, new asphalt will be laid. During this time parking will not be allowed on Brandon Avenue between 18th and 26th Streets. No Parking signs have been placed on the street as an indication work will commence Thursday morning.

Access to driveways will be restricted during milling and paving (approximately 1 day for milling and 1 day for paving).

Motorists can expect Brandon Avenue between 18th and 26th Streets to be closed during the paving process. This work requires the application of road oil to the surface, and although the oil remains uncovered for a brief period of time, it does not mix well with children, pets, or vehicles. Please exercise caution and keep your children, pets, and yourself away from the road.

Street surfacing usually requires one to two days for milling (grinding and removal of the existing asphalt), and one to two days for paving (laying new asphalt). Typically, milling will take place a few days prior to paving, the road will be re-opened to traffic between milling and paving operations.

Garbage collection services are expected to be maintained throughout construction. If milling or paving occurs on your street during garbage collection day, you're asked to place your bins on the curb the following day. Collection trucks won't be able to access the bins during construction but will return to collect them the following day.
