People of Brandon Facebook Page Helps Local Charities
Whilst scrolling through my Facebook wall the other day, something drew my attention that I thought was such a refreshing change to see on a social media platform.
Amber Burchart (The Coordinator of the People of Brandon Facebook group) decided to do a simple raffle to raise money for local charities. The prize? 2 bags of Bugles. Yep! Nothing fancy, it's that simple. How can you go wrong with a treat everyone loves mixed with a cause we can all get behind. Amber was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of her efforts to start up a fun contest, "We just wrapped up our first draw for 2 bags. It raised $370 which will be split with Christmas Cheer & our annual hamper project (we adopt Cheer families and have the POB community fill the hampers)," Buchart said.
Seems as though the spirit of the season is catching on with help from this contest. Amber says a lady by the name of Amy has donated another 2 bags of bugles, so they're holding another raffle. The second raffle contest was launched on Monday, December 12, 2022, here are the details from The People of Brandon page:

Amy reached out asking if she could gift us 2 bags of Bugles. Her wonderful kids read our other waffle post & asked if they could help give back to the community. In the spirit of Christmas they're wanting to support some local programs, and help someone else with their Nuts n Bolts. (They're going to improvise with a different ingredient for their traditional family treat so we can continue to help others with this fun project.) Thank you to Amy and her amazing kids for asking us to help- you guys are great!
Continuing with this amazing holiday spirit that just keeps growing- all proceeds from this waffle will go to Brandon-Westman Christmas Cheer to help with their goals, and The Men's Resource Centre to assist with their community goals & programs.
We invite everyone to help with this great act of kindness- two people will have some magical Nuts n Bolts & two great organizations will receive some much needed community support this Christmas season!
