2022 Business Achievement Awards Recipients
The Brandon Chamber of Commerce Business Achievement Awards recognize, celebrate and profile the accomplishments of member businesses and individuals. Awards are presented at the Annual Awards Gala (typically held in the Spring). This is the first such awards gala to be held since 2019 due to COVID-19 regulations.
It was a spectacular night of prestige, entertainment, and celebration. Over 500 people were in attendance as the Brandon Chamber Awards recognized organizations in the following 8 categories:
- Business Person of the Year - Bernie Whetter (The Green Spot)
- Business Excellence (Large) - Kim’s Asian Restaurant
- Business Excellence (Small) - GEM Services
- Outstanding New Business - Resurrection Auto Detailing
- Community Impact - Westman Communications Group
- Lifetime Business Builder - Paul Crane (Crane Steel Structures)
- Young Entrepreneur Award - Matt Berg (Livingstone Landscaping & Outdoor Garden Centre
- Westman’s Top 4 Under 40 - Ty Worthington of Pinnacle Event Rentals, Cassandra Jamieson of McPhail Travel Brandon, Amber White of Anytime Fitness, Nirmal Thakar of Shreem Systems & Solutions.
Business Person of the Year
The President’s Award for the Business Person of the Year is presented to an individual that exemplifies outstanding business practices and achievements, and who demonstrates leadership, vision, and the creation of economic growth while contributing to the community. The award has been given out annually since 1982 at our Annual Dinner event held in March.
Criteria: has demonstrated being a model of business excellence, illustrates leadership and vision, demonstrates a high standard of ethical practices and professionalism, investment and job creation in Brandon, positive impact to the business community and volunteerism.
