James Montgomery's political aspirations stem back to his University days when he was taking a few Political Science classes but majoring in kinesiology. During that time he landed a job that would become the perfect foreshadowing scenario for his political career. He worked as an assistant for Steven Fletcher, the Conservative member of Parliament (Charleswood-St. James-Assiniboia). Fletcher was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006 and 2008.

As of today (Sunday, March 12, 2023), Montgomery is the only person who's officially announced a bid to run as the PC candidate for Brandon West. meanwhile, the Manitoba NDP and Liberals have yet to announce any official opposition.

Westman Zone's Frank McGwire (pictured at left) talks politics and more with James Montgomery (right).

In this segment of "In Conversation With..." (which can currently be seen on WCG Cable Channel 12 in Westman), Montgomery discusses everything from his political aspirations to his present-day platform. His stance on the Liberal Party of Canada's handling of the pandemic has a discordant tone that will raise eyebrows.

In this interview, Montgomery vows to always be accessible and never back down or shy away from public discourse, especially that which pertains to the betterment of his constituent's communities.

The full 33-minute interview can be viewed on Westman Zone's YouTube channel where it has been made available in 3 parts. (Links available below)
