Man Tasered After Throwing Full Bottle of Beer at Police Officers

Assault with a Weapon

On December 27, 2022 at 8:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in a residence by destroying property. Others in the home were unable to prevent his actions from escalating and requested police intervene; however, the 50-year-old male acted aggressively toward police and threw a full bottle of beer at them. The officers were not injured.

In order to gain compliance from the male and arrest him, officers deployed a conducted energy weapon. Once the male was in custody, he was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober to appear in court on February 23, 2023 on charges of Assault with a Weapon and Assault Peace Officer.

 


 

Break and Enter – Suspect Arrested

On December 28, 2022 shortly after 3:00 am, police responded to a report of windows breaking in the 1300 block of Princess Ave.  When police arrived, they learned that a suspect had broken in to an apartment.  The 33-year-old male was located and arrested inside.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Break, Enter and Theft, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.

 

 


 

Break and Enter to Business

On December 27, 2022, police responded to a report of a break and enter to a business in the 000 block of 18th street N.  Suspects forced their way into the business sometime over the previous 2 weeks and stole computers, docking stations, and tools including a Bosch hammer drill and laser levels.

Stolen Vehicle

On December 27, 2022, police responded to a report of a stolen 2018 Black Chevrolet Silverado from the 500 block of 17th street.  It was later recovered from the 1600 block of Park Ave where police located it parked and unoccupied.

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On December 28, 2022 shortly after 1:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 800 block of Lorne Ave.  One of the passengers was known to police to have a court ordered curfew, and was arrested.  Further investigation led police to discover a knife in his possession, which was also contrary to his court order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order X2.

 

Breach of the Peace

On December 27, 2022, at 5:30 pm, police responded to a report of a male causing a disturbance at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street.  The 30-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober.

 


 

 

Breach of the Peace

On December 27, 2022 at approximately 10:30 am, police responded to a report of a male causing issues at a business in the 1900 block of Richmond Ave, he left the business, but he proceeded to harass patrons who were attempting to access it.  The 33-year-old male was located nearby and arrested.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service.

 


 

Arrest Warrant

On December 27, 2022, police located and arrested an 18-year-old male who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Release Order.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.
