Man Arrested Outside Store He Was Ordered Not To Enter - Police Find Weapon

Fail to Comply with Release Order

 

On January 10, 2023, police received a report of an unwanted male at a business in the 3100 block of Victoria Avenue. The 33-year-old male was on a condition not to attend the business. The male left the business in a vehicle as police were arriving. 

 

Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested the male for Failing to Comply with a Probation Order for attending the business. During the arrest, police located a large hunting knife in his possession. He was also on conditions not to possess weapons. 

 

The male was then arrested for Failing to Comply with a Release Order and Failing to Comply with a Probation Order for possessing the knife. The male was lodged at Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 


 

 

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

On January 10, 2023, members of the Organized Crime Section and Crime Suppression Section executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of 4th Street.  During the search police located a small quantity of methamphetamine and cash. 

A 59-year-old male was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime (Proceeds). 

He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2023.    

 


 

 

Theft Under $5,000

On January 10, 2023, police received a report of a theft from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue.  Staff advised that the male left the store without paying for a basket full of items. The same male was also involved in a similar theft the day prior. The suspect was identified through video surveillance and found to be on a condition not to attend the business. A 31-year-old male was arrested for Theft Under $5,000 x2 and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking x2. He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in February 2023. 

 


 

Cause Disturbance

On January 10, 2023, police arrested a 13-year-old female in relation to an ongoing investigation involving a disturbance at an elementary school in December 2022.  The female was involved in an altercation with another student at school. She was also on a condition not to communicate with the other student from a previous incident. 

 

The 13-year-old female was arrested for Causing a Disturbance and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking. She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in May 2023.

 

 

 

 


 

 

Breach of Peace

On January 10, 2023, police received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of 11th Street.  A 37-year-old male was intoxicated and breaking items in the residence.  The male was arrested to prevent further issues and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On January 10, 2023, police received a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 00 block of 24th Street.  A 27-year-old male was intoxicated and causing problems in the residence.  The male was arrested to prevent further issues and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 


 

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On January 11, 2023, police attended a residence in the 500 block of Princess Avenue for an unrelated incident.  While at the residence, police located a 35-year-old male who was on a condition with a daily curfew.  Given the time of day, the male was found to be in breach of his Release Order.  The male was arrested for Failing to Comply with a Release Order.  He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in February 2023. 

 


 

IPDA

On January 10, 2023, police received a report of a 33-year-old male at the hospital who had been cleared medically, but he was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself.  As a result, the male was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

 


 

Arrest Warrants

On January 10, 2023, police attended the Brandon Correctional Center to arrest a 50-year-old male inmate who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Theft Over $5,000 and Uttering Threats.  The male remains in custody at the Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in court today. 

 

On January 10, 2023, police located and arrested a 29-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear in Court.  She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2023. 

 

On January 10, 2023, police located and arrested a 16-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Causing a Disturbance, Fail to Appear in Court and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking.  He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in February 2023.

 

On January 10, 2023, police located and arrested a 32-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Mischief.  He was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today. 

 

On January 11, 2023, police located and arrested a 37-year-old male who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Possession of Property Obtained by Crimes.  He was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March 2023.
