Local Transgender Artist's New Album Set for November Release

Anastasia Jane album release “House of Jane” - House of Jane, the new album from out and proud transgender singer-songwriter Anastasia Jane, will be released on November 17th.

The album will be released during the International Transgender Week of Awareness and just before the Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20th- a day to remember folx in the gender-diverse community who died due to transphobic practices and gestures).

The upcoming House of Jane album deals with themes of mortality, relationships, spirituality, self-discovery, and empowerment. The themes were partly motivated by her recent medical issues as she was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer this summer and started treatment in September.  Thus, live performances have been postponed until 2024.

For additional promotion, her video for Nosferatu, the closing track off House of Jane, was released on October 20th. Her video for Move the World, the opening track from the House of Jane album, was released on November 1st. Additionally, her song, No One Can Eradicate Me (NOCEM) will be featured as the Song of the Week by Manitoba Music, the provincial organization that supports and promotes Manitoba artists on the same week as House of Jane will be released. - NOCEM was written in response to anti-trans and anti-queer rhetoric and policies that have been growing throughout Canada and the USA, particularly this year, calling for the eradication of the gender-diverse community and the prevention and halting of gender-affirming care. - Along with From a Chrysalis and Gravity (off her first album), NOCEM is one of her most popular songs on streaming platforms and has also received play in countries such as the USA, South Africa and Ireland.

Anastasia Jane’s first album, released in spring 2022, is called Confessions from a Closet and is an autobiography of her transition journey.  Both albums plus, NOCEM, can be found on most major streaming services. You can check out some of her videos posted below this article.
