Local Cannabis Business Closes Its Doors

Growers N' Smokers ceases operations. According to a live feed posted by owner-operator Rick Macl, the store will close at the end of March. Listed as an Alternative & Holistic Health Service on its Facebook page, G n' S opened its first retail location on the 200 block of 18th Street North approximately 6 years ago. The retail space moved to a new location on the 1100 Block of 19th Street just prior to the COVID pandemic.

Macl will now focus on retirement and "enjoy some time with people I should be enjoying time with." Along with recording a live video post for the Growers N' Smokers Facebook page, Macl posted the following note on the company's Instagram account:

After 6 years of owning Growers N' Smokers and working through legalization and the pandemic, we have decided to close our doors. It has been a rough couple of years watching major companies in the industry shrinking & shutting down. I have decided to retire and let the new generation duke it out until the strongest (richest) survive. You can continue to follow my shenanigans on my new page on social media "Rick in the Shed" where I will continue to upload information on the cannabis industry and my infamous rants that people have come to enjoy over the last few years.

It has been my pleasure to serve the community. the thing I will miss the most is the conversations that have gone on in the store for all these years. I will miss each and every one of you (except Brian Pallister, he can go f___ himself!) and hopefully, we can continue the convos on my new page.
