Limo Ride Leads to Drug Bust for Brandon Man

Possession of Cocaine

On Friday evening, an officer stopped a limousine leaving a residence in the 1100 block of 1st St.  One of the passengers is bound by a release order with a curfew and was arrested for breaching the order. The suspect was searched after his arrest and had a knife, individually packaged cocaine and a large quantity of cash. 

The suspect, a 31-year-old Brandon man, will appear in court on Saturday morning on charges of Failing to comply with a Release Order, Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of Proceeds of Crime.

 

Assault Peace Officer

On Friday morning, staff at the Brandon Correctional Center reported an inmate assaulted a Corrections Officer by spitting on the officer.  The inmate, a 24-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with Assaulting a Police Officer.

 

Indecent Act

On Friday morning, BPS received a complaint from a resident of Riverheights Driver regarding a man committing an indecent act in public view.  Members attended, obtained a statement and arrested a 58-year-old man for Committing an Indecent Act.  He will appear in court in December.

 

Arson

An investigation into an arson that occurred on the grounds of J.R. Reid School in August resulted in the arrest of a female youth on Friday.  She will appear in court in January on a charge of Arson Causing Damage to Property.

 

Possession of Fentanyl, Resist Arrest

At 10:30 pm on Friday evening, an officer observed a male at a gas station on Middleton Ave who was bound by a curfew.  The officer approached the male and he ran away.  He was apprehended a short distance away.  A search of the suspect revealed a mall amount of fentanyl.  The suspect, a 56-year-old resident of Sydney, was released to appear in court in December.

 

Theft Under $5000

Shortly after midnight on Saturday morning, a male suspect stole a bottle of liquor from the bar at a hotel on 18th St South. A 20-year-old Brandon man was arrested and released to appear in court in December.

Impaired Driving

At 0137 hrs on Saturday morning, a 911 caller reported a male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle at a stop sign at 13th St and Aberdeen Ave. Officers attended and located the vehicle with a male driver behind the wheel, passed out.  The vehicle was running and in drive.  The driver showed signs of intoxication and was arrested. He later provided breath samples over the legal limit.  A 48-year-old Brandon man will appear in court in November on charges of Impaired Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle and Care and Control over 80 mg%.

 

Other arrests

Three people were arrested on arrest warrants.
