DOORS OPEN BRANDON CELEBRATES 21 YEARS
Brandon, MB – The City of Brandon, Brandon’s Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee, and their community partners are getting ready to open the doors to some of Brandon’s most unique character buildings and significant community sites during the 21st annual Doors Open Brandon weekend July 14 – 16, 2023.
The 21st Annual Doors Open Brandon weekend starts with a Guided Bus Tour in conjunction with Brandon in Bloom on Friday, July 14, followed by specialty tours and self-guided tours on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16.
Self-guided tours include a mix of 12 privately owned properties, publicly owned properties, and museums. Many of these properties have been able to keep their traditional charm, while having been renovated and revitalized for the benefit of the community.
Nature walks through the Assiniboine Food Forest, a tour of the downtown area of the city, and a unique Indigenous event are just a few of the speciality tours and activities during this fun event!

“For this year, Doors Open Brandon will have a variety of interesting and interactive events. We aim to offer something for everyone, ranging from a historic bus tour, to self-guided tours to specialty guided walking tours across the city,” notes Omoarukhe. “Not only are there returning locations, such as the history-making water reclamation facility after a few years’ absence, but there are also new tour options this year, like the grounds at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. Overall, this is a wonderful opportunity to get out in the community and learn about Brandon’s rich heritage.”
