Theft of Motor Vehicle – Suspect Arrested
On April 11, 2023 shortly before midnight, a suspect stole a 2005 Honda Civic, which was left running outside a business in the 800 block of 18th street. The owner had left their cell phone inside the vehicle while they went inside to pick up a pizza delivery. The phone’s tracking app was used to assist police locate the vehicle in the 300 block of 2nd street.
The 28-year-old male suspect was arrested after he was found hiding in a nearby yard. He was still in possession of the car keys and a debit machine belonging to the pizza delivery business.
The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released in the am to appear in court on June 8, 2023 on charges of Theft of Motor Vehicle and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
