With the fifth overall pick in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft, the Brandon Wheat Kings select Jaxon Jacobson from Brandon Wheat Kings U18 AAA.
Jacobson averaged 1.36 points per game with the triple A Wheat Kings last season. He amassed 60 points including 24 goals in 44 games. He averaged a point per game in the playoffs with 3 goals and 5 assists in 8 games As a formidable force on the front line many have Jaxon as the top ranked Mantioba-born player.
The Wheat Kings also selected Victoria B.C. product Pantelas Giorgos in the first round 19th overall. The 6'3 185 pound blue liner is a solid skater who racked up 38 points in 28 games including 7 goals last season with Rink H.A. Kelowna U15 Prep.
For their first pick in the second round the Wheat Kings selected Nigel Boehm. The 5'11 170 pound left winger from Saskatoon played with the Saskatoon Generals U15 AA team last year where he racked up 40 points (17g & 23a) in 30 games.
12 of the 22 (55%) 1st round picks in the 2023 WHL Draft played in the CSSHL during the 2022/23 season.
