Brandon Police Deal With a Myriad of Calls Wednesday

BPS Officers Endure a Busy Wednesday

 

Possession of a Weapon

On the morning of 2023-06-21, police attended to the 800 block of Princess Avenue for a report of a group of individuals drinking in public.  A 32-year-old female with the alleged group was observed by police attempting to conceal a canister of bear spray on her person.  The female has been released with conditions to appear in court 2023-08-24 for the charge of Possession of a Weapon.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On the afternoon of 2023-06-21, police attended to a residence in the 200 block of 3rd street as a male was causing a disturbance.  A 29-year-old male was subsequently lodged at BPS to prevent a continuation of disruptions to the occupants of the home.

 


 

Possession of Stolen Property

On the afternoon of 2023-06-21, police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle in the 0 hundred block of 29th Street.  A check of police records revealed the 2012 Mazda3 to be previously stolen from the 1900 block of Queens Avenue on 2023-06-17.  In addition, the vehicle was fitted with a license plate that had been removed and stolen from a separate car that matched the same description. 

 

Incident to arrest of the operator, he was found to be in possession of several knives, which was in contravention to the court order that binds him from possessing any weapons.  A 28-year-old male was lodged at BPS to appear for court on 2023-06-22 for the charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime X2, Possession of a Weapon, Failure to Comply with Release Order X3, and Failure to Comply with Probation.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On the evening of 2023-06-21, police attended to a residence in the 600 block of 20th Street for a report of a family member that was intoxicated by drug and causing a disturbance.    A 43-year-old male was subsequently lodged at BPS to prevent a continuation of disruptions to the occupants of the home.

 


 

Intoxicated Person

On the evening of 2023-06-21, a 38-year-old female attended to BPS while in a drug induced state.  The female was subsequently lodged at BPS until sober.

 


 

Uttering Threats

On 2023-06-20, police received a report from a youth that two known individuals had threatened him via Snapchat.  Police investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male and a 15-year-old co-accused male were responsible for the threats.  On 2023-06-21, the two individuals were arrested and released to guardians with conditions to appear in court 2023-08-29 for the charge of Uttering Threats.

 


 

Warrant/Possession Crystal Meth

On the evening of 2023-06-21, police responded to the 400 block of Richmond Avenue for a report of a male acting suspiciously.  A check of police records revealed an outstanding warrant of arrest.  A search of the accused incident to arrest resulted in locating a small quantity of crystal methamphetamine.  A 37-year-old male was lodged at BPS to appear in court on 2023-06-22 for the warrant and possession of crystal methamphetamine.
