Brandon Police Charge Motorcyclist With Dangerous Driving

Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle

 

On August 27, 2023, shortly before 11:00 pm, police observed a sport bike racing around the City Of Brandon. 

 

Police attempted to stop the bike at 18th Street and Park Ave, but the driver failed to stop, and sped away, driving through red lights and popping wheelies, which were captured on video footage from the police cruiser. Police did not pursue, but observed the driver as he turned around and drove passed them again. 

 

The driver, a 20-year-old male, was later identified and arrested at his residence on August 28, 2023.  He was released and will appear in court on November 2, 2023 on charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Flight While Pursued by Police Officer.

 


 

Assault

On August 28, 2023, police received a report of an assault, which occurred at a residence.  The adult female victim attended to Brandon Police Service to report being punched several times at the home but did not require medical attention.  The 32-year-old male suspect was located and arrested at the residence.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 


 

Breach of the Peace

On August 28, 2023 shortly before 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a 60-year-old male who was throwing property around a residence and making threats towards other individuals in the neighbourhood.  He was located and arrested nearby, and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent his actions from continuing.

 

On August 29, 2023 at approximately 12:30 am, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a business in the 1100 block of 18th street.  A highly intoxicated 25-year-old female was found to be the cause of the issues.  She was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
