Break and Enter to Business – Suspect Arrested
On May 8, 2023 at approximately 4:46 am, police received a report of an alarm sounding at a business in the 100 block of 7th street. When police arrived, they could see an unauthorized individual inside through a window. Members from general patrol contained the business, while a member of the Police Service Dog Unit was called to search for the suspect within the building, as it was quite large.
The 28-year-old male suspect was located in the basement and arrested. Investigation revealed he forced his way in through a window.
The suspect was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Break and Enter with Intent.
Impaired Driving
On May 8, 2023 shortly before 3:00 am, police conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of 11th street after it was observed failing to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle was unregistered and the 24-year-old male driver did not have a license. He also displayed signs of impairment by drug and was arrested. He failed an Evaluation by a Drug Recognition Expert. The driver was also to abide by conditions not to have any communication with his female passenger. He was later released to appear in court on July 13, 2023 on charges of Fail to comply with Undertaking and Driving While Ability Impaired.
A 31-year-old female passenger was also to abide by conditions not to have communication with the driver. She too was arrested and later released to appear in court on a charge of Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
Utter Threats
On May 7, 2023, police received a complaint that a male suspect, who was also her ex, was repeatedly sending threating messages to the complainant via text, indicating he would kill her and her family. Police located the 38-year-old male at his residence and arrested him. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Uttering Threats and Criminal Harassment.
Stolen Vehicle – Recovered
On May 8, 2023 at approximately 12:30 am, police located a stolen white 2012 GMC Sierra, parked and unoccupied in the 400 block of 12th street. The vehicle had been stolen out of Winnipeg.

Assault
On May 6, 2023, shortly after 9:00 pm, police responded to a report of an assault at a residence. Investigation revealed that an adult female was assaulted by her boyfriend before he fled. She sustained minor injuries, but did not require medical attention. The male was not located that night.
On May 7, 2023 shortly before 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of a group of individuals drinking in the lane in the 400 block of 10th street. One of the individuals was the suspect male from the previous assault. He was also wanted on an outstanding charge of Theft Under $5000. He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court today.
Theft Under $5000
On May 7, 2023 at approximately 5:30 pm, police responded to a report from employees at a business in the 900 block of Victoria Ave that they had witnessed a female select approximately $150 of grocery meat and cheese before leaving without paying. Police located and arrested the 56-year-old female in the area. She was later released to appear in court on July 4, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.
Break and Enter to Business Storage Shed
On May 7, 2023, police received a report that sometime overnight, suspects broke into a storage shed at a business in the 1400 block of Louise Ave. Once inside the suspect may have tried to light a fire, as there was evidence of charring on the door.
