BPS Officers Challenged to a Fight After Responding to a Domestic Disturbance Call

Assault Peace Officer

On October 11, 2022, shortly after 9:00 pm, police attended to a residence following a complaint of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they observed an adult male through the window yelling at others in the home.  After officers knocked on the door, the male suspect came out and challenged them then proceeded to fight. 

The male would not cooperate with officers so in order to gain compliance from him; officers used a conducted energy weapon.  The 33-year-old male was arrested and later lodged at Brandon Police Service. 

He will be released once sober to appear in court on December 15, 2022, on a charge of Assault Peace Officer.

 

Fail to Comply with Release Order

On October 11, 2022, police responded to a report of an unwanted male outside a residence trying to get the homeowner to let him inside shortly before 5:00 pm.  Police learned that the 32-year-old male was to abide by conditions not to attend the residence. He was also wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to comply with Release Order.  He was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today.

 

Breach of the Peace

On October 12, 2022, shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male who was causing problems at a residence and the others in the home were unable to prevent his actions from continuing.  The 24-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On October 11, 2022, shortly after 7:00 pm, police responded to a report of a male who was passed out at a business in the 1500 block of 18th street.  The 48-year-old male was in no condition to care for himself, and he had nobody to look after him.  He was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.
