Assault With a Weapon Charge Part of a Busy Monday for BPS


Assault with a Weapon

On February 6th, 2023 police attended to a victim in the 0 hundred block of 9th Street.  Investigation discovered that a male and female whom are known to each other had gotten into an argument while at an apartment located in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue. 

The female suspect accessed a kitchen knife to cut the wrist of the male and the 25-year-old male was transported by ambulance for a non-life threatening injury. 

A 47-year-old female suspect was arrested at the scene and lodged at Brandon Police Service to appear in court February 7th, 2023 for the charge of Assault with a Weapon.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On February 6th, 2023 police were called to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of 10th Street.  A 22 year old female was determined to be the cause of the problem and could not be calmed to prevent further issues within the home.  The subject was lodged at BPS till morning to prevent a further breach of the peace.

 


 

Theft Under $5000

On December 28th, 2022 police received a report from a business in the 600 block of 18th street that a female had entered the store and stolen $264 in merchandise.  The incident was captured on video surveillance and on February 6th, 2023 police located the suspect while attending a call for service in the 1800 block of Queens Avenue.  A 32 year old female was arrested and released on conditions to appear in court April 17th, 2023 for the charge of Theft Under $5000.

 


 

Theft Under $5000

While attending the previously noted call for service in the 1800 block of Queens Avenue, police noted a male in the company of the female to also be a suspect in the prior theft.  The male was arrested for the theft and a check of police records showed him to not to have contact with the co-accused.  A 46 year old male has been arrested and released with conditions to appear in court April 17th, 2023 for the charges of Theft Under $5000 and FTC with Undertaking.

 


 

Failure to Comply with Probation

On February 6th, 2023 police attended to the Brandon Correctional Centre to serve a warrant on an inmate.  A 32 year old male will appear in court February 7th, 2023 for the charge of FTC Probation.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On February 6th, 2023 police attended to a report of a disturbance at a residence in the 1000 block of 26th street.  A 24 year old female was determined to be the cause of the problem and could not be calmed to prevent further issues within the home.  The subject was lodged at BPS till morning to prevent a further breach of the peace.

 


 

Failure to Comply with Undertaking

On February 6th, 2023 police attended to a report of an unwanted male that was intoxicated and outside a residence in the 600 block of 11th Street.  A check of police records showed that the male is bound by a court condition to not attend the address.  A 25 year old male was arrested and will be released when sober with conditions to attend court April 3rd, 2023 for the charge of FTC Undertaking.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On February 6th, 2023 police attended to the 800 block of Rosser Avenue for a report of an intoxicated male that was attempting to fight people.  Investigation discovered that members of BFES had responded to a report of a passed out male.  Upon waking the patient he became combative and took a threatening manner with paramedics.  A 45 year old male was arrested and lodged at BPS and will be released sober.

 


 

Warrant

On February 6th, 2023 police attended the 800 block of Rosser Avenue to execute a warrant of arrest on a known female.  A 22 year old female was arrested and released with conditions to appear in court March 20th, 2023.

 


 

Domestic Assault

On February 6th, 2023 police received a report of domestic assault which had occurred at a residence in the 800 block of Frederick Street.  The victim sustained minor injuries and the suspect was later located in the 300 block of 6th street.  A 35 year old male was arrested and released with conditions to appear in court March 6th, 2023.
