54-year-old Man Charged With Domestic Assault and Assault by Choking

Domestic Assault

On January 23, 2023, police received a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 200 block of 8th Street. Upon arrival, police located a 54-year-old male outside the residence in an agitated state. After further investigation, it was learned that the male had pushed, kicked and choked the female in the residence. The male was arrested for Domestic Assault and Assault by Choking. He was held in custody at the Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 


 

Theft Under $5,000

On January 23, 2023, police received a report of a theft from a business in the 900 block of 18th Street North. A 27-year-old female had filled a shopping cart full of merchandise and left the store without paying for the items. Police located the female in the area and arrested her for Theft Under $5,000. She was later released and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

 


 

Breach of Peace

On January 23, 2023, police received a report of a 23-year-old male causing a disturbance at the hospital in the 100 block of McTavish Avenue East. The highly intoxicated male had attended the hospital with a friend who required treatment. However, the male began causing a disturbance at the hospital and he refused to cooperate. As a result, he was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service to prevent any further issues.

 


 

Arrest Warrants

On January 23, 2023, police located and arrested a 24-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear for Fingerprints. She was lodged at Brandon Police Service and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 

On January 23, 2023, police attended to the Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 42-year-old male inmate who was wanted on outstanding charges of Obstruction of Justice x2. He remains in custody at Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 

On January 23, 2023, police attended to the Brandon Correctional Center and arrested a 31-year-old male inmate who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Utter or Use Counterfeit Money. The male remains in custody at Brandon Correctional Center and is scheduled to appear in court today.

 

January 23, 2023, police located and arrested a 27-year-old female who was wanted on an outstanding charge of Fail to Appear in Court. She was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.
