Temple Among Five Triple A Wheat Kings Selected in Draft


The 2022 WHL Prospects Draft got underway this morning (Thursday, May 19) and Brandon product Cole Temple was selected in the first round by the Regina Pats. The Pats hold four picks inside the first three rounds including temple who was selected 5th overall. 

The 5’9″, 150lb centreman sniped 58 goals and garnered 108 points in only 28 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings U15 AAA hockey club in the 2021-22 season. He added 30 points including 11 goals in 11 playoff games with the Triple A Wheat Kings.

Four of Temple's teammates were also selected in today's draft. Left-winger Easton Odut was selected in the second round 34th overall. Right-winger Brady Turko went in the third round, both by the Brandon Wheat Kings. Meanwhile, the Everett Silver Tips picked defenseman Kaeson Fisher in round 6 and forward Colten Worthington was selected by the Saskatoon Blades in the 11th round.

Brandon Wheat Kings used their first-round pick in this year's prospects draft to select Joby Baumuller, the Notre Dame Hounds centre hails from Wilcox Saskatchewan was selected 12th overall. The Brandon Wheat Kings passed on their 12th, 13th, and 14th round picks.
